Mythical Land
Acrylic on Canvas
(40 x 40 x 1.5cm)
This resulted from another experiment with poured acrylics. However, I over diluted some of the six colours that were blue, purple, yellow, white, red and black and this resulted in some of them moving at a pace across the canvas,
I made use of a hairdryer to keep them under control, but when that wasn't a total success I made use of a spatula and then a credit card to fill the blank areas. There was significant over run down along the edges.
The result was a very wet canvas so had to wait two days for it to dry and then the edges had to be blended accordingly before I took in just what I had created. It would have been impossible to paint with a brush the scene that I saw before me. A scene from a mystical place with glorious mixtures and blends of the colours. You may see dragons guarding gold or ghostly characters over seeing a garden. As with all abstracts it is whatever you want it to be. Enjoy.
