Interwoven

Took a risk here by starting with a brushed gold canvas looking for colours to blend in. A large rectangular spatula was used to add the blocks of ultramarine blue as the main contrast. A smaller spatula was used to add the squiggles of burnt sienna followed by distinctive areas of white from another one. It still didn’t have that blended look as the colours still looked like separate layers, so I flattened the canvas with a small soft roller. Close inspection later revealed that it now looks as if the colours have been interwoven into colour. A technique to repeat.
